Geographical position and features

Manika

Kimi is situated on the central eastern coast of Evia; about 90 kilometres from Chalkida. It is built amphitheatrically in a thickly - forested area, 200 metres above sea - level. This is why, because of the breath - taking view of the Pelagos Agean, it is often called «the balcony of the Agean sea».

Kimi is a modern town set in traditional surroundings. Kimi's harbor and sea - front, from where the ferry - boats sail for Skyros, is a short distance away from the town.

The whole area is scattered with large and small villages. Where the traditional buildings blend in with the natural beauty of the scenery.

It's worth visiting Avlonari a charming small town built amphitheatrically on a hill with a medieval tower crowning the top. The visitor would also enjoy visiting the picturesque small towns of Monothri, Vrisi, Konistras, Oxilitho and Ochtonia or climbing up to Manikia a mountainous village built among craggy steep cliffs.

If one prefers the seaside one can take magical trips to Soutsini, Platana, Stomion and many others.
