Kimi is situated on the central eastern coast of Evia; about 90 kilometres from Chalkida. It is built amphitheatrically in a thickly - forested area, 200 metres above sea - level. This is why, because of the breath - taking view of the Pelagos Agean, it is often called «the balcony of the Agean sea». Kimi is a modern town set in traditional surroundings. Kimi's harbor and sea - front, from where the ferry - boats sail for Skyros, is a short distance away from the town. The whole area is scattered with large and small villages.
